You guys are reading it backwards. Look at how old Twiley is in this picture. She's not old enough to be a librarian.
You were in the library, trying to use the computer lab when the terminal went terminal. You ask the librarian for help, and since all the other computers were full, they let you use the computer behind their desk while they try to fix the computer. That's when Twilight showed up.
"May I help you?" you ask the filly.
Twilight is currently at the age where she has trouble talking to strangers, and people in general besides her immediately family. Unfortunately her mom and dad, or her brother and her babysitter are currently causing the pink background. You're not even sure who is supposed to be watching her, and she's not saying a whole lot.
