i did that once too.
had an A5 sheet of paper and tried to make as much cranes as possible out of that.
the tiniest were made from an piece of paper with a sidelength of 1,5 cm ^^
if I rememer correctly, I made 5-8 cranes out of this sheet of paper

Oh cool! I went crane crazy when i figured out how to make them i made over 100 possibly 200ish, a friend wanted a ton to hang up in her daughters room. These ones from wing span are about 1.5 cm as well
about the wingspan I do not know. the paper I used to fold them had one edgelength of 1,5 cm, so the wingspan was a bit smaler ^^
I used to fold them everywhere when i was on my way or waiting for something. everytime i had idle fingers ^^
I bought such a block notice-paper and had everytime so up to 16 papers with me.
I even got that tick to write down my mobilnumber an left them (more or less hidden) somewhere for others to find it
so I gues i am already close to that 1000 from the legend
