SinkA Poem
breathing underwater
never knew her father, mother
jumped in, didn't care
now she has kelp for hair
she wants to
she wants to
she wants to
breathing in the water
keeps getting pulled under
mother's tugs too strong too strong
she's been away for far too long
she wants to
she wants to
she wants to
breathing underwater
swimming like the ocean taught her
water rushes past her nose
fishies nibble at her toes
she wants to
she wants to
she wants to
breathing in underwater
now she is ocean's daughter
fish move past steady slow
feel the pull the undertow
she wants to
she wants to
she wants to
sink
