I totally didn't read any of this...

...I'm going back to work now. Goodluck with....what ever it is you actually do.

And so my point is proven.

Lol, the only thing you proved is that you wrote too much for me to care.
But i guess that's a victory for you?

grats.

Sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "nananananana i can't hear you!!!!" went out of style when I was five. But I guess your elitism and white-knighting is a symptom of a person stuck in preadolescence anyway, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Errrr not really? Again, i couldn't be bothered reading your five page essay on "Im right, all conceptual artists are wrong!" Sincerely; id just block you if i got to that point.
You're actually just another dA numbing sound which used to after 8 years or what ever its been.

Im not being elitist, im simply saying your opinion is a minority. Then i got an essay.

Except that wasn't what my post was about. But you wouldn't know, because you're too insecure to read anything that challenges your worldview.

Baaawlocking and white-knighting? Seems to me you're the numbing sound that's been killing dA.

Except that's not what happened at all. You dismiss my opinion because I'm not part of this "community" you've appointed yourself to speak for, and because I use an artstyle that isn't photobashing or speedpainting. You constantly dwell on how I'm an outsider, rather than actually addressing the argument.  Your arguments and language are elitist and silly. And then when I point out what you've done wrong, you stick your fingers in your ears and try to drown it out. Which is what started this in the first place: you elitist types refuse to accept any criticism, any advice, any opinion that isn't yours, and you get super defensive and angry whenever you're challenged.

K? Me defending the industry i'm IN is "White Knighting" and "Elitist."
"photobashing or speedpainting" All major Studios use this method. ALL.
You're the elitist and you can't help but run your mouth, for example, I gave a simple fact; fun/good design prompts realism and your opinion is a minority- you flipped your shit for enough words to write a Novella. I dropped the issue and reiterated what i've said and you've not stopped insulting me and the community of artists that work hard everyday to break into one of the hardest industries out there.

You're narrow minded and a complete Moron.

Side note; the more you write the less I read, not because I'm "Putting my fingers in my ears" its simply because you bore me, I'f i wanted a novel, i'd read Tolkien.

You show up, and start frothing at the mouth on a page that isn't even yours, telling me my opinion is worthless because I'm not in your industry. If you can't see how that's white-knighting and elitist, I... well, you're rather dim is probably the nicest way to put it.

Unfortunately. Use to be, people actually came up with stuff that was creative, and worked hard to make it a reality. Now, everything is just photobashed so lazily and obviously that it all looks the same. Art an design for Destiny, CoD, and of course shit like Last Man Standing all look exactly the same. Everything is uncreative, boring, silly dreck. It's quite sad, really. Photoshop has ruined a lot of things by making it so easy for people to produce the same image over an over again, with minor variations. I can't tell the difference between artists anymore, unless they have some hilariously impractical fetish that they throw on everything.

no uuuuu!

You've got it backwards. I said something that pushed your buttons, addressing somebody else. You got involved. You started this, coming out guns blazing about how my opinion meant shit because I'm not in your little club. You persued it. You continued to insult me, my art, and my position. And when I respond to your unprovoked attack, you either ignore it, or shift focus.

It's a hard industry because thousands of dumb rich white kids try to get in every year, making the same dull dreck as everyone else, because mummy bought them a supercomputer and they'd rather sit on it all day than do actual work. It's a hard industry because the market is saturated with shit tier cod crap. I say this stuff because I'm disappointed. Disappointed that everything has gone to shit. Same with movies. It's all shit plots and CGI with no substance. Tragic.

I'm not the one who said someone's opinion doesn't matter because of their art style and lack of an "industry job". You did that. You refused to accept opinions and criticism. That is what being narrow minded means.

Yet you continue to engage. I suspect you either have a short attention span from playing CoD all day, are physically pained by being disagreed with, or are deliberately ignoring my points out of intellectual dishonesty.

Look, if you ignore everything else, read this: I know I can't change your mind. You're too invested in the argument to admit fault, and you've clearly become too invested in your community, and proud of yourself, to accept any criticism. And this legitimately depresses me: If you are truely representative of your "industry", then we are living in an age where what should be the forefront of creativity and innovation is dominated by arrogant, uncreative snobs who are unable to accept other people's opinions or criticism. Which means that it's dying. Because creating cool and interesting stuff isn't about shutting people out and dismissing them. It's about being open and welcoming and humble. In 30 years, when EA owns everything and concepts are manufactured in an office building by technicians, we will look back on this as the turning point. So please: prove me wrong. Show me that there is hope for worldbuilders and concept artists. Show me that you can be open minded and accepting of other ideas.
