You show up, and start frothing at the mouth on a page that isn't even yours, telling me my opinion is worthless because I'm not in your industry. If you can't see how that's white-knighting and elitist, I... well, you're rather dim is probably the nicest way to put it.
Unfortunately. Use to be, people actually came up with stuff that was creative, and worked hard to make it a reality. Now, everything is just photobashed so lazily and obviously that it all looks the same. Art an design for Destiny, CoD, and of course shit like Last Man Standing all look exactly the same. Everything is uncreative, boring, silly dreck. It's quite sad, really. Photoshop has ruined a lot of things by making it so easy for people to produce the same image over an over again, with minor variations. I can't tell the difference between artists anymore, unless they have some hilariously impractical fetish that they throw on everything.
no uuuuu!
You've got it backwards. I said something that pushed your buttons, addressing somebody else. You got involved. You started this, coming out guns blazing about how my opinion meant shit because I'm not in your little club. You persued it. You continued to insult me, my art, and my position. And when I respond to your unprovoked attack, you either ignore it, or shift focus.
It's a hard industry because thousands of dumb rich white kids try to get in every year, making the same dull dreck as everyone else, because mummy bought them a supercomputer and they'd rather sit on it all day than do actual work. It's a hard industry because the market is saturated with shit tier cod crap. I say this stuff because I'm disappointed. Disappointed that everything has gone to shit. Same with movies. It's all shit plots and CGI with no substance. Tragic.
I'm not the one who said someone's opinion doesn't matter because of their art style and lack of an "industry job". You did that. You refused to accept opinions and criticism. That is what being narrow minded means.
Yet you continue to engage. I suspect you either have a short attention span from playing CoD all day, are physically pained by being disagreed with, or are deliberately ignoring my points out of intellectual dishonesty.
Look, if you ignore everything else, read this: I know I can't change your mind. You're too invested in the argument to admit fault, and you've clearly become too invested in your community, and proud of yourself, to accept any criticism. And this legitimately depresses me: If you are truely representative of your "industry", then we are living in an age where what should be the forefront of creativity and innovation is dominated by arrogant, uncreative snobs who are unable to accept other people's opinions or criticism. Which means that it's dying. Because creating cool and interesting stuff isn't about shutting people out and dismissing them. It's about being open and welcoming and humble. In 30 years, when EA owns everything and concepts are manufactured in an office building by technicians, we will look back on this as the turning point. So please: prove me wrong. Show me that there is hope for worldbuilders and concept artists. Show me that you can be open minded and accepting of other ideas.
