During the megaman crossover, the sonic character get turned into robot masters and their names are changed from tails to tailsman, knuckles to knucklesman, etc. As Sonic and Megaman where fighting them, they run into Shadow as a master and one of the Megaman bosses, shadowman. For comedy, Megaman and Sonic get them mixed up and end up fighting a different Shadowman.
Yeah yeah, I'm aware of what happened. But it's mostly just a funny coincedence. Like the Vector Man thing.
Which would be fine if the just a coincidence, but the comic tries to pass this off as its actually funny. I know it isnt the best example, but it was the one that came to my head first.
