you would hold out the revolver. they do it with .44 mags as well and i think even .357 and i know they scoped Desert Eagles before with the 10 inch barrel ones. a stock would help but then it's not a hunting pistol. It would be a hunting short barrel rifle.

if you don't tunnel vision you should be fine.
