It was at the time, but now I have the road king. I ride every day year round so I gave in again and traded it in for a bagger.
I live in Springfield MO and Ride mine everyday I can. Work in corporate design so I get strange looks form time to time when I wear khakis but whatever. I would rather ride than cage it! I do have to suit up in the winter but as long as its not raining on the way in and its above 30º I'm riding!
I get interesting looks on work days too. I am an IT director and I have to wear dress pants with shirt and tie every day. My bike is my only means of transportation so either I ride the bike or I don't go to work.
I have other means of transportation but none are as exhilarating as running thru the gears on a harley!
I moved from the suburbs of Chicago to Phoenix about 27 years ago mostly because I couldn't afford both a nice bike and a car. it was worth it.
