Ah it makes sense to block in shadows over everything first. I often paint shadows in as I go through individual steps (hair, face, clothes) but doing it all together seems a lot more efficient. Your mark making is so confident, I hope to be able to paint like this with enough practice! Thanks for sharing your process.
