No problems with that.
So, what are some of things you would like to see in this story?
I'd love to see the developing relationship between Zannah and Cognus... and the various disagreements and fights between the two.
Zannah is first and formost a Sorceress and Scholar, hungry for knowledge, while Cognus is much more of a warrior... so I imagine an almost Revan/Malak-like relationship between the two.
I'd like to see them explore various former sith worlds collecting lost sith techniques and knowledge, I think Ziost and Drommund Kaas would be great places to start.
Also, this is very much still a transitionary period for the Sith... Cognus would be one to strike first and ask question later, while Zannah would obsessively overanaliyze a situation to the point of Cognus' constant infuriation, so plenty of fights, some of them even devolving into violence.
Cognus meanwhile has her own strengths... she's conniving and manipulative along with being very unconventional... she'll always be looking for ways to undermine the Republic and Jedi in anyway possible. So maybe she sparks a bloody war somewhere?
What do you think of these ideas?
I was thinking of something similar with the Zannah and Cognus relationship. I figured it would be similar to the relationship between Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious, consider that that Sidious was a bit of a psychopath himself.
I was also thinking of incorporating some of the elements from the Darth Plagueis novel into the book, like the planet of Kursid.
Yeah, forming the "Grand Plan" should really start to get underway here, hence the search for lost Knowledge, and sparking a Civil War somewhere... hmmm... I think Corellia or Alderaan would be good places for that.
Also, Cognus is an Ex-Mercenary, so She would know where to strike to start a civil war on a key Republic planet, maybe she even keeps her old contacts from her Hunting days, just to keep one hand in the underworld? That's always a handy thing for a Sith to have, and they have taken advantage of crime bosses and their organizations to their benefit on many an occasion.
I don't know about starting a whole civil war thing. According to what I read about the Grand Plan from the Wookieepedia site, the early centuries of the Order of the Sith Lords was challenging because because they had gather their resource in secret as the Republic and the Jedi restored themselves after the New Sith War. Besides, with the separatist that I'm going with and the Jedi protecting Zannah thing, it would be hard for the Order of Sith Lords to start a Civil War.
True, very true, maybe this could be the start of the Sith Lords association with the Nemodians (Trade Federation), Muuns (Intergalactic Banking Clan), and Skakoans (Techno Union). Back then they were all clients and workers for the Czerka Corporation, with all three as serving as subsidiaries within Czerka.
Maybe with Zannah and Cognus`help, all three are able to gain complete independence from Czerka somehow?
That would indept all three corporations to the Sith, which will come into play much later down the line... could that work?
I checked up on those 3 groups. The Trade Federation didn't get it's start until 350 BBY, which way beyond Zannah's time. The Techno Union does show some promise, as my research on them doesn't state as to when the Union was formed or how it was started. Plus, at this time, the Czerka Corporation would probably be known as Czerka Arms. As for the Banking Clan, I think that should be left alone, considering events in the Darth Plagueis novel. However, it is possible to have Zannah and Cognus interact with a member of the Banking Clan, specifically the Damask Clan.
