thank you, love your stuff too. I would have loved to do game art.


tha face... hmm. Nothing in particular. I had a front and side view as a template in max. Then I took a square poly and in front view, kept extruding and moving to get nice UV's. Next I aligned the just made ploys to the side view. After that I pushed and pulled to get a nice form. I did a lot of research on Disney's 3d faces and 2d faces; how they form the nose, How they shape the head, etc... then I drew a bunch of heads, trying to emulate the style. Maybe all that pre work subliminally put the soft round Disney style face in my head and when I modeled- it appeared?


keyshot is really good for hard glossy things. cars, or in my case cell phones. Simple , fast and pretty good results. For character stuff ti becomes a little limiting. Surf for lots of other hdri environments. The defaults are just not enough. Otherwise, it has been good enough for me not to bust out mental ray!
