It all depends on how detailed the painting is, this one took about 8 hours. 
8hrs? That's usually the time I take to go a good portrait...

I don't sketch my landscapes first, I just go straight into painting them. Can you offer any tips on how to paint? I'm studying Animaton you see and next term they're going to be teaching people how to paint stuff...I have no idea where to start... So what would you tell a rookie?
I am self-taught and found you-tube and on-line tutorials very useful. Ah...never liked You tube. But thank you for the advice. I'll find another way.
