It would have been better than what we ended up with, at least.

I liked how it came out! I was one of those people who didn't care which one got picked for the show. Although I was expecting "The character is based on the author" plotline, I have to admit I was blown away on the Author literally BE the character, even if they stuck with the "author" plot I was expecting I still would've been fine with that.

Even if there are others who didn't like the execution, there are two redeeming things I find about how it ended up.

One: It had some rather funny moments, I can't help but laugh at how Pinkie Pie said "Or maybe A. K. Yearling is just a Terrible, Horrible, Unbelieveable SLOB!!!" To me that screamed "That's Pinkie Pie!"

And Two: It could've been far worse! When I heard the premise was "Rainbow Dash learns that the next Daring Do book is going to be delayed, and insists to her friends that they need to go help the author A.K. Yearling to finish the book faster." I thought it was highly likely the writers somehow made RD a little too selfish... Which she kinda was, but I was glad Twilight wanted to put some sense into her and the focus quickly changed from "Forcing an Author to write ala "Misery" to "anxious fangirl" in less than half the episode, they dodged a bullet on that one!

I really don't see how it could have been much worse. The episode was nearly identical to something Rainbow Dash herself would have written. It was contrived and nonsensical, without hardly a whiff of creativity or even believability. I can think of dozens of premises that would have been more interesting, and while I'm at it, the moral was a total bomb too. I believe it went something like...

:iconcoolglassesdashplz::iconsays3plz:For a split second, I forgot how awesome I am! Silly me!

Ugh. Awful.

WOW... I thought you would be cool with this, but you're just an A-Hole!No, I disagree!

Well now, that's just rude. I didn't insult you for your opinion. I'm not used to mincing words when it comes to fiction. It was a terrible episode; how could you possible take that so personally?

I only wanted to shed some light on this (even if it doesn't change your opinion) and see if you would respond with stuff like "Fair enough" or something like that, but NO! You responded by saying
":angry::angry:IHATETHISEPISODEIHATEITIHATEITIHATEIT:angry::angry::angry:!!!" without any decency. Just stick with saying "I dislike the episode" CALMLY and just let it go!

I was, and still am, quite calm. You're simply faulting me for not being gentler with my word choice, but I really don't see any need to. I'm generally not mean, but I am straightforward. There's not much to concede with either of the two "points" you made, because all you said was that there were a couple of funny moments (which describes even the worst episodes the show has to offer), and the fact that "It could have been worse." That's not really an argument. I could go into more detail on all the different ways the whole thing fails, but what's the use, if you're just going to attack a guy for disagreeing with you and not conforming to your ideal version of a conversation partner??
