Your teacher has groups write things? Wow, that must be really difficult. Collaborating in writing is a terribly cumbersome process! Congratulations to you for not dying in frustration. 
Yes we have, though only twice(thankfully). I usually let the other kids come up with the story and characters then I handle the editing and writing and I also clean up the plot if it's weird.
