I don't see much of a dichotomy in there, it kinda reminds me of Borderlands 2 actually.
As for the floppy buildings, maybe it's the lighting effect that is wrong? I mean, that "bridge" on the top right corner looks thinner than it should in the central part, mostly because the light makes it look so.
Know this though, I'm not an art expert at all, so take my words as speculation, since it's just an opinion that probably no one else will share.

Other than that, it looks pretty cool so it deserves a fave for sure.

haha wicked borderlands saves all, thanks man.

yeah I hear ya, the very topmost bridge was supposed to be like a walkway between the two er.....stations? but it looks miles further away than the ice bridges because of the lighting/atmosphere as you pointed out. I think by having the other two bridges so close to the walkway and at the same angle there's an expectation that it should be the same kinda structure and while repetition can be a handy tool for perspective (I'll remember that for the next pic) it worked against me here because I wasn't taking it into consideration - issue solving! write all the info I have in my head down in checklist form so I can go through it and make sure I got my shit covered. Cool beans man that's awesome.

haha cheers man.

Borderlands was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that building in the foreground, it reminded me so much of that same scenery, with extended glaciers and small signs of civilizations, like towns and mining facilities and so on ;p
Not really about the distance, but I thought that when you said "floppy" you meant like "not solid" or "made of jello" and so I pointed out the walkway because to me it looked a bit weird-shaped, like it wasn't a solid-metal structure :/ But after you mentioned it I did noticed the distances were a bit off.

Whatever, looks still cool and I'm sure you'll find your way to improve it even more :D If I may give a suggestion, how about an effect that makes it look like it's more windy? Not sure how to explain it, but maybe some lines or something that give the idea of a snowstorm or something (maybe you've already done this but I don't see it, I don't have such a keen eye for all the details, sigh).

Aye I did put a little but of a wind/snow effect in but I could definitely have gone further with it but I tend to bleach a lot of my pictures with effects to cover up mistakes (pro secret you can totally do that and it's not cheating until you decide that it is and go on a speedpaint binge) So I wanted to make this pic pretty clear warts and all to see if I could get a bit of feedback, which I did, from you! thanks man.

Maybe making the snow (snowflakes?) more visible would be a thing, maybe not, who knows (I don't).
Aw, no worries matey, just glad to be helpful in any way ;)
