haha. but you're pretty good at it. and it works as a nice contrast to da's regular doom and gloom. (mine own galleries included.)

Sometimes I feel I should try drawing something less fluffy and more dramatic like I use to, but I can't always think of something that would actually have substance to it and won't just be gloomy for the sake of being gloomy.

then don't worry about it since for now it's not a job.  do what you feel comes naturally and your art comes out better for it.  do the dynamic or gloomy when you feel inspired for that route. for now that's what i do

mmkay X3 I tend to be pretty hard on myself as to "what I SHOULD be drawing". It's silly but I can't really help it.

haha. we all feel that way but you improve regardless given enough time. and your art will always come out better when you do something you feel inspired for. compare a piece you had to do compared to one you wanted to do and you'll see a notable difference

I think you're definitely right on that, yes :D

yep. unless it's work, do what you like.
if you want gloomier or more actiony, rather then go full out of your zone, why not do scenes from your own story? that way you can still be inspired for em and do your best work?
