Nicely captured. Nice city, I went there once...

I am glad you like it - obviously it is not a very original photo but that's the problem with large - famous buildings, their history is interesting but there are so many photos of them that is hard to make a good and at the same time distinctive photo of them. Anyway, when you were in Trier did you get to visit the dom museum? They have some really interesting Roman painings like this one cms.bistum-trier.de/bistum-tri…  Also I quite enjoyed the St. Mathias abbey, did you like it?  Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it!

Not that I recall, was only a brief stop on the way back from Bavaria. Went in the Basilica of Constantine, though, which included some interesting displays about the city's history, including photos of the devastation caused by Allied bombing. There is a very pretty baroque palace facade around the corner from there, too, with ornamental gardens, presumably much restored. The facade vaguely reminded me of the Guildhall in Worcester, only it was much more pink.

Also went in St Gangolf church, which was picturesque.

The Porta Nigra was also quite impressive. Surprising to find such large and well preserved Roman buildings that far north.
