Even the fucking haircut sreams Jensen. And the background reminds me of the levels of Deus Ex: Human Revolution that took place in China.
I just mentioned it as a possible source of inspiration. Would it have been better if I said that it might be inspired by "Do androids dream of electric sheep"? And to be frank, no, I do not see anything original in it. Bio-modification, androids, sci-fi and such have been prominent topics in art for a very long time. I still think it's beautiful.
You don't get the difference between visual aesthetic and concept, and that's exactly what I'm talking about.
The concept - a chick with implants - is of course not original, and I'm not saying it is. But the visual aesthetics chosen to express this concept, are to a point, original, and definitely have nothing to do with Deus Ex. I like Deus Ex, and for a bigger part, for it's solid, wholesome, thought-out aesthetic woven into each game element - and because I know it so well, I can say that this pic is totally dissimilar.
What I'm saying, is that people like you have very small, constantly shrinking visual libraries made mostly on popular video-games, and you perceive every similar concept through the lense of that small, microscopic visual library.
Implants? MUST BE DEUS EX! Power-armor? MUST BE HALO! Dieselpunk? MUST BE BIOSHOCK! Not taking in account that the technique and aesthetics might have nothing in common with that aside from key concept elements. You should consume more media to correctly notice inspirations and similarities.
Why are you acting like I insulted your mother? I only said that it seemed like you were inspired by Deus Ex, because, as you know, implants are a pretty big deal in the DX franchise, and with recent additions to said franchise, it's fair to assume that you did, in fact, get inspired by it.
I'm not trying to disregard your abilities here in any way, I'm just saying that it has an uncanny resemblance of a typical scene in Deus Ex. It's not even criticism, just mere commentary. You needn't take it so personally.
I do understand the difference. You just get way too worked up about a reference to a game, and accuse me of all sorts of things. For someone who acts like a big tough bad guy, it's really quite childish.
I just accused you of not understanding a fundamental difference and having a small visual library if anything with implants immediately draws a references to DEHR for you. That's not "all sorts of things".
And you still continue arguing with me, an artist, trying to prove me what? - while you're not an artist youself. Now that is truely childish. In addition to the abovementioned, you have a really poor discussion ethic and a vague understadning of what certain words mean. That's kinda sad)
How would you know whether or not I am an artist? Maybe I prefer Flickr over dA?
My point was, and still remains, that it was just a comparison. A jab, if you will. You're the one getting worked up about it, not me. I don't even understand how you managed to misunderstand it so badly. Just drop the topic, and move on.
It's a comparison that holds no objective validity and speaks only of your lack of a big reference backdrop.
Why are you so insistent that I'm worked up? You're the one who came up to my work, maybe it's you who is worked up? No, you drop the topic and move on, you have no place on my page to tell me what to do, you realize that it's completely dumb to do so?
Well, now you're straight up acting like a teen who has been told that he won't get an iPhone for his 16th birthday. Since you're seemingly obsessed with German history, allow me to introduce you to one of their famous sayings:

No need to be on the edge like that.

You just don't seem to get the difference between an idea and its execution.
