As for the former, you do notice the grand swath of death and destruction that follows them right? That thing in the bowling alley, the pox that followed, the "Hearts and Hooves Day" incident. Let's be honest, if Ponyville ever burned to the ground the first order of business would be to find the CMC for questioning. And while the good ponies of Equestria search, the CMC will be in the highest tower of their mountaintop fortress raising their adorable hooves to the air and laughing "MUA HA HA HA!"
