I like your interpretation of him...in fact it's refreshing to see him closer to his real age! According to JK Rowling, Snape was born in 1960, 20 years before Harry was born in 1980, which made him only 38-39 when Nagini murdered him. While I loved Rickman's Snape, he's 30 years Snape's senior which is significant!
