I've always thought pet rocks are one of the saddest things ever created. A fake pet for people who can't either can't afford a real pet or lack the ability to properly care for one.
Actually, it is the most genius thing ever created. The man made MILLIONS on something that hardly cost him a dime. Many inventions were created for lazy incompetent people, it's as American as a burrito.
