"Republic" isn't how you spell "kingdom" ^_^
(sorry, bad joke :XD: )

LOL, it's not how you spell "democracy", either. I wasn't sure whether to say this is a flag of a French-style, Novgorod-style, or Venetian-style republic. State religion's probably still Catholicism, though - at least until the Reformation hits. That'll be fun.

Bah! :D The European kingdoms are the most democratic states in the world! (except for Switzerland XD )
Ouch :D If I'm not mistaken, the North took to it rather well, didn't it? :)

I've never actually experienced life in a kingdom before. I only lived in England from birth to age 3, but I was too young to actually understand anything. I'd love to go back and visit one day, though.

Now that you mention it, yeah, I guess the Reformation wasn't so bad in the North. I was probably thinking about the wars of religion from c. 1524 to 1648.

Didn't mean to come off as an ignorant American. ^^

:D It's not much different from a republic. I mean, you don't feel "royal"  in your day-to-day life :XD:

Pah, don't worry ;)

My parents do have an odd story or two regarding life in England, though. For instance, one time, they had to pay an additional tax just because one of the types of flowers in their garden was "the Queen's flower", and there were two water faucets in each sink instead of one: one scalding hot, the other deathly cold. No such thing as a single warm faucet.

Oh, and there were no telephone operators. They just told you to walk to the building of the business you wanted to call and get the phone number yourself. LOL

But that was 21 years ago. Surely at least some villages have progressed a bit by now.

That's ridiculous. I don't mean to accuse your parents of anything but the only "queen's thing"  in England are the swans and you wouldn't kill a swan anyway, would you? And yes, they do have two faucets but it's no problem to install one ;)

Dunno, we don't have any either :D And we're a republic.

Wow, really? Maybe the tax collector was trying to scam them... <_<
