Physical Appearance: Johann Callan is a specter. He stands around 5’4½ (164 cm) or so. He also has a strong, muscular physique. He has dark, blackish hair, and a ghost tattoo on his back that represents his mysteriousness. His clothing consists of a dark blue, sleeveless jumpsuit with a red waist sash and red wristbands, along with light blue shoes.
During other appearances throughout the series, Johann has temporarily had different hairstyles. For example, his hair was long during one point.
While under Dormammu’s control, his appearance has some slight alterations. His skin is now a light gray color. He’s also depicted with glowing red eyes, and his clothing is torn and ripped. He also has black smoke continuously erupting from his body, much like Albert Wesker.
Personality: Johann is, for the most part, a very shy individual. Ever since the deaths of his mother and father, he began to feel consumed by revenge.
His most notable personality trait is that he suffers from bipolar disorder.
Johann is also notable for his acts of bravery. Even in the most dangerous situations, he is never afraid to die in battle, making him a fearless, noble and deadly soldier.
Abilities/Powers: Johann Callan is also a very skilled martial artist. He is also a space traveler, and when prepared to travel the Milky Way, he begins to glow with ultra-power in the form of a ghostly white-blue figure. With that, he travels through the darkness of space at warp speed without any trouble. Being a ghost, Johann has the abilities of transparency, meaning he can become invisible. Like any ghost, he can fly in the air. When Johann’s body becomes transparent, he possesses several ghost powers. Also, while transparent, his face is altered to a face similar to Slender Man’s.
Skills: Being a wanderer, he’s become an excellent outdoorsman, able to take care of himself even in the most inhospitable environments.
Brief History:
Johann Callan was one of the finest students of the Hayashi Clan. Originally his father, a former member of the clan, forbade his son from ever joining it, as he did not wish for his son to live the life of an assassin. However, Johann joined in spite of his father and mother’s wishes in order to become the strongest warrior in the world.
Now Johann is a deadly specter, inexorably seeking vengeance against those responsible for the deaths of his mother and father. Despite being consumed with the consciences of both good and evil, he is still a warrior who fights to defend Earth. Because of this, the citizens all across the globe regard Johann as their hero (with the exception of criminals and terrorists).
Though those gigantic lists of allies and enemies were really unnecessary... you could have just said that it was a character used for multiverse fan fiction or something along those lines, it would have been enough.
Now that I have the info, I can critique the visual design better, and I would say that it would be nice if the design had a clue relative to the fact that he is a ghost. The tatoo is hidden under the clothes, plus it's not really "ghost specific", so it might not be enough.
I would consider an emblem on his clothes, kinda like they do in Dragon Ball : you know, like Son Goku has the japanese ideogram for "turtle" on his clothes to represent the fact that he belongs to the "turtle school" of master Roshi. So you could just use a symbol or asian ideogram for "ghost".
Another option is to use imagery relative to ghosts. But because in the west it's mostly about the chains or white drapes, it might not be good. But once again, there could be interesting things in foreign culture...
In japanese folklore, for instant, ghost wear a triangle on their forehead. Maybe it could inspire a triangle tatoo or something.
Personally, I would add a triangle on his forehead, and I would add a symbol on his clothing.
Triangle : either a headband with a triangle, or a small tatoo kinda like the dot that some indian people have on their forehead.
Clothing : the ideagram for "ghost" is , but using that is maybe too much like Dragon Ball. So maybe use a symbol of a fireball (this can represent a soul). A very stylized ghost could also work, but this require experimentation.
Those are just suggestions of course. Maybe redshoulder has ideas of his own...
