I think none of us enjoys being institutionalized as we

I want to be free from the past! 
I don't know, sometimes it feels really good to wake

Waking up should be nice sometimes 
Reality can sometimes be a relief, despite its many downsides.

I think it means that you were reluctant to leave your dreams behind and would want to delve in them a bit more. Whoever invented the alarm (clock) should be shot, it brings misery to everyone everywhere.
