I could not agree with you more. And while I appreciate all constructive criticism - I know my work is not perfect - I still find it a bit curious that most of the negative comments - still very few though - largely come from people with empty portfolios or sites with... let us say, pretty basic artwork. I know what I have to think of those. Most commentes here, I find very helpful though and I enjoy discussing my work. 
Honestly, and I'm not trying to open a can of worms here this is just conjecture, I think the majority of unwarranted criticism is simply because the model is female. Most wouldn't even bat an eye at this if it was male, and there may likely be more compliments.
That being said, I love what you're doing. We need more of this around, a lot more. This girl here looks like she'd be more likely to survive on a battlefield than a lot of the characters I see who are actually /in/ video games and movies. So do us all a favour; brave the inevitable criticism and keep this stuff coming!

I will. And what I think very cool, of the hundreds of comments I received here, there was many praise for the model and zero sexist comments. I think this is ?quite remarkable. Also, most critique I got here was very constructional.

Indeed I do. I have to say that is one reason I enjoy dA that much, it is a very friendly community and real trolls do not last very long here, at least that is how I experienced it.
