Chainsaws aren't weapons, though. They're really awful at hurting things, precisely because they're motorized; they're designed to cut down things that don't move or fight back, and with soft, wet things, like flesh, they get jammed up very quickly. I've actually used a chainsaw before; they take a long time to get through what they're working on, although they're still easier to use than axes.
Sorry to be contrary - but anything can be used as a weapon; effectiveness of said weapon notwithstanding. 
Yeah, but there's a difference between something being used as a weapon, and something being a weapon. A sword is a weapon. Its intended purpose is to cut down people. It is very good at that. It is ineffective at cutting down trees. A chainsaw is not a weapon. Its intended purpose is to cut down trees. It is very good at that. It is ineffective at cutting down people.
