You know, it reminds me of jewelry too. It might be the fact that it's not really painted, it's chunks of stone and melted metal that make the shapes? I really, really liked workign with this color palette, and I tried to push myself on different tones too. I may not be able to SEE them very well but I noticed that I had just given up even trying with what tones I could see and made everything flat. So i'm trying to push myself that way too.

Oh Sam.. I have SO MANY frames here now. Literally a pile of frames that I'm slowly making art for lmfao. Oddly enough I noticed I work better colorwise when I already have a frame picked out. Does that make sense to you at all?

Aye, it makes perfect sense, it's like having a swatch to match to. :) I also realised the reason it makes me think of jewelry is the occasional beading I do - reminds me of a cellini spiral (4.bp.blogspot.com/_nAWXs9avYqE…

oooooooooh oh wow that's beautiful. Dude, my step mom is sending me ALL her jewelcrafting things. I'm thinking about doing some mixed media paintings with beadwork included in them.

I've not had time to do any beadwork in aaaages. It is a dark pit of addiction, though, when you realise how many sheer possibilities there are with it, especially combined with things like wire wrapping or kumihimo braiding. Evenmoreso when you realise there are such things as dragon scale beads :O artandtea.files.wordpress.com/…
