you are right! about 26% is below sea level and 60% or so is prone to flooding. The lowest areas used to be seas or lakes. Sometimes people fled during a flood towards these low areas (which sounds pretty stupid, haha!). But these low areas were the safest, because the dikes around them are often stronger than the ones protecting the 'high' land. Doesn't happen anymore though, everything is quite safe ;)

and that sounds like a pretty epic mountain (and certainly not a hill ;))! Does it have a name?

It's called "Grand Mesa" Here I uploaded a pic just for you. (well, I wanted to upload one anyway, but you were my inspiration) Looks like a dragon to me, what do you think?

that's one big awesome mountain! I can definately see a dragon in it. the part on the left could be his head, the first high part of the mountain on the left side is his shoulder, followed by the rest is is body (maybe with wings folded around it), followed by (a pretty big) tail, which starts when the mountain becomes a bit lower. looks like he is sleeping quietly ;)

and you live there? wow, I am really jealous Wow!

Thank you! You've got it just right.Hug  That's awesome, My other friends don't see it. ...and yeah, It's my home town.:) (Smile)  It's a very cool mountain to go visit. There are hundreds of natural lakes, and the colors in the fall are just beautiful.

ahh... but the dragon is so clearly visible!

wow, that sounds like a wonderful place to live! that's it! I am going to live somewhere else; I look out on some trees XD that's quite ok, but only during summer, when they still have leaves. Otherwise I look out on a very ugly flat XD

I thought so, but I've also had most of my life to look at it. ...aww:( It's not that bad is it? I know what you mean, though. I lived on the plains for a while, totally flat with an awful cow smell. lol

well, could be worse... I am glad that there are so many trees around that building ;) it's build in the early 80's, and functionality was obviously more important than beauty ;)
hmmm... yup, continuous cow smell sounds a lot worse XD

Ya, the cow smell was pretty bad. Some days were worse that others, though. lol
