I really rather like this. It's quite touching and very unlike your usual writing. It's always good to stretch (although most of us don't try to stretch across a galaxy).

the first line you mentioned -- it's just slang. i see it at tumblr a lot.. where the "reasons" are either unnamed, unable to put into words, or based on selfishness.
