Yah he looked like he could take me if he wanted too. I knew he would just fly away but I was still apprehensive. It was intimidating

a good thing to do if you come across a wild animal is to not find it intimidating, insted think of it as a friend and welcome it's company, because they can sense the fear in you. however if they sense you are not hostile with time and practice you will be able to accomplish amazing shots like you will not believe. :nod:

Thanks for the advice most of the anxiety is hoping you can get your camera focused in time before it flies away.

thats why autofocus is such a good thing. thats why digital cameras are great!

Yes but sometimes autofocus gets glitchy I find or doesent focus on what you want...

yes indeed, very true!
i learnt photography using a 1980's film SLR with manual focus, so i have a sharp eye when it comes to the whole manual focusing thing. which is one of the things i'll thank my dad for, at some point. actually i can't remember whether it was him who taught me it or me teaching myself... :shrugs: anyway yeah...
