The background colour is scrubbed on first (literally)oil paint/linseed oil.When dry,the coloured"bits" were added,then when thats dry-ish,the master block over the top of it.

At the moment,I'm working(or trying to),on the illustrations for 3 childrens stories I've written.
If I get time....or a commision,the woodblocks could start flowing again.
Most likely series would be super-villains to go with the Batman woodblock.

it's really worth it to use much longuer techniques and not simply computer quick tools, something noble that gives character to the image...
