Aha, I have also bought one of those packs where you have 1000 sheets of paper in them =P I commend you for your patience, all of my cranes are sitting in a box and the rest of the papaer stays unfolded.
I really wish I knew about those packs before I started, but as is, it's a completely unique 1000 cranes. No one in their right mind would put all the types of paper together like I did.

Man that's a lot of cranes. You're my hero.

I had to work on a 1000 paper crane project for school. I don't know how many of them I made myself, but I felt like I was in a paper crane sweatshop or something. My thumb nail still hurts from pressing all the folds.

Yea, I'm a hero now! Actually it wasn't too challenging; I spent 7 months in 2006 folding them at an average of 4/day. The hardest part was finding 250 different paper types and even then I cheated a little. I know about the hurting thumbnail also. I just went on a four hour folding marathon to finish an art trade last night and the tips of my index fingers have the origami callous now. :) And if you look around dA, there are quite a few others with 1000 crane projects. A few of the more interesting ones I've :+fav:ed. Or do a Google search using "hiroshima peace memorial" People from all over the world mail the monument 1000 cranes so they get millions of cranes each year.

I remember reading Sadako's story when I was in 3rd grade. I commend you for your patience- I once tried to make 1,000 cranes but lacked the determination, haha ;P
didn't see anyone post a thing for it but to do a link... it's [a href="http://www.blablabla.com"]bla[/a] and just replace the ['s with <'s

btw, awesome work on the cranes

Sorry for the late reply but I would doubt I had that much patience in 3rd grade either... or did you just read the story then and attempt it later? I will have to say it was a beast of a project but breaking it up over 8 months or so made it quite manageable for me. If you DO attempt it, make sure you have all your supplies at the beginning. That was the hardest portion of the project for me at least.

And thanks for the comment!

It took me a second to understand what you were saying since I wrote the description months ago... this was one of the first things I uploaded to dA. Thanks for the answer though. I've noticed that as long as you cut and paste the URL in dA it'll do the link automatically. Your way is better since you can name the link as well.

I may have told you before, but I like your signature, at least the English portion... for all the anime I watch you'd think I'd pick up on Japanese easily but no sir. Is it a quote you made or got from somewhere else?

The paper quote is one I've made and have made into my life's philosophy so to speak lol, the jap on the other hand just says "i miss you" and thanks.
