I don't think she meant to be disrespectful, although what you're saying should be very respected. I think you're targeting unnecessary overage to someone who is just making an exaggerated interpretation of a Disney concept that had a focus on a specific culture. Unless she was creating a "hot mess" the same way Halloween costumes make the sexy native American outfits, instead of an interpretation of an already created idea that's from something else.(disney) then I don't think you should vent out your anger so harshly. You can voice it. You have that right and it's well respected please don't vent out in over the top anger

Your tone policing is a transparent attempt at derailing.

How nice for you, that you have the privilege of being able to be so calm and reasonable. The people whose culture is being actively stolen and disrespected don't have that privelge.

And FYI- our totally warranted anger does not invalidate our message, and the oppressor's ability to stay calm is indicative of ignorance and disconnect, not subjectivity.

Way to try to silence actual native people talking about appropriation of OUR CULTURES.

lol
so even if she had put Powhatan designs and tried to still keep her style you'd have an issue

art theft is if she was saying it was a native design, wich she isnt, and selling it

i find it purely ignorant that u assume all natives will have your mindset its
as if your one of those white chicks that believe all natives are part of one tribe and are completely in tune with each other.

as for the design itself, the
Powhatan natives seem to use more tan colors and tassels. what would have been cool is the inclusion of tattoos. the feathers are ok and the beadwork i fell is more prevalent in other tribes but trying to blend art nouveau style with the native style of a particular tribe isn't easy while also keeping the Disney style to some degree.. but hey feel free to make your own work.

I'm sure you have an issue with pretty much every ting native in movies and games so I'm sure you'll just pick anything apart even though that's really just hurting natives in the long run because you're being a jerk and scaring people from including them in media. you remind me of the Tumbler users that jumped down this female wrestlers throat for appropriating before even asking if she was native witch she was.  and Side note i don't care about what tumbler language u use against me my , main issue is that instead of providing useful critique you were a jerk. its really sad cause there's hardly any art depicting natives in a non-sexualized or barbaric way but you decide to tear apart one of the few ok pieces out there.

but anyway I'm gonna make this costume now for the fun of it.

catch u later Here's a kiss for you, my love! Pocahontas - Pocahontas Icon 1

I'm sorry that I butted my nose in where it doesn't belong. It's just that as a Hispanic I see so many wrong things and there are those that try to voice out against it but with unmanaged anger it doesn't work out. This can't possibly be an excuse since you're pain is much greater than what I can imagine. And I have to also realize that what I'm saying can't just cancel out your anger overnight. So I do apologize for intervening. But please, at least watch where and how you vent out your anger I don't think it would be fair if your message got misinterpreted for your harsh tone.
