I'm from the west, that's all I can tell you. They must have done it as an act of spite at Nintendo or something. Think of it like the software wars of the past, but more physical than just verbal. One instance of this in the past was Fighting Force, which was intended for release on the Sega Saturn, but Sega began pressuring the developers over unknown matters (Many like to believe that Sega pressured the developers to make it a Streets of Rage game instead.) and in response, the developers shafted the Saturn version in favor of PS1 and N64 releases.

Yeah but that's what I'm saying, it's probably just in the area you're living in. Less than a month ago I read that Nintendo and Ubisoft have no problems at all.
