I worked professionally in the comic industry for 7 years before I could afford a Cintiq(and I still don't own a full size one)...That's like saying that all those guys in the NBA are only good because they can afford expensive Basketball shoes. 
Yeah, but having good shoes does help....
By adopting this mental approach you're actually sabotaging yourself. In order to make progress in life and in art you need to avoid making excuses. The world is not "fair" and it never will be, so it does little good to complain about it. All of us have our own obstacles to overcome, and it's those who persevere through those struggles who are ultimately the greatest success stories. I hope for your sake that you can be one of those some day, but that road to success begins with a change in attitude.
