It's interesting to see all the characters that you come up with. I thought I was the only weirdo like that. I've got so many of them, I don't know what to do with them, sometimes, but they keep appearing...

Thank you.... Characters are a passion of mine. Some of them really dig their nails in and get a lot out of me, when you wouldn't expect it. But it's the same for me, quite a few just pop in and then take residence on a Chesterfield sofa for the rest of my life.

I really hear you on that one...some pass through...some morph...some just stick around and help write their own story, or enhance others....Like Gytha...I actually started the story with a totally different character, and she stepped in and took it up and added twists and interest. From second to first....

The majority tend to just lounge around my head and eat all the snacks in the pantry. It's funny though, the ones that you can start a story with, dislike how it goes, and then try again with minor changes and end up with something universes different. Dschimi's like that. Show-stealers are the most fun and the most frustrating, though--especially if you're writing in first person and suddenly have a more fun character whose head you are not in. :shakefish:

Very very true on all accounts! I made Gytha less aggressive, and it changed the whole timbre of the story...go figure...
I have to admire you for writing in first person. I could never manage it, ever. I kept running into walls, personality conflicts and the like...

I think she'd be wonderful no matter what though. Her face alone, the way I've seen you show it, tells tales.
Aw, thank you. First-person is kind of like... Taking dictation. I've come a long way from doing that in kindergarten, but I wonder if maybe it's not a sound principle for practice with first person. Or, you could always write a story starring yourself. ;D

Aw, that's sweet of you...thanks...I love her...
I still can't do first person...it's like...I personally can't do those things that I'd allow one of my characters to do...if that makes any kind of sense....I just can't imagine myself as someone else, darn it!! and put it on paper, that is....go figure that one! :O

:) No worries. Can't wait til I get to "meet" her more fully.
That makes perfect sense. But maybe you could try pretending that you're just...rewriting a letter someone wrote, or something. Sorry, I'm just dragging it out now.... ^^; You're entirely right, the switch from first person to third is much more than just using "I, me, and my" instead of "He, Jerome, and his".
