Personally, I didn't necessarily hate what they did, since it's sort of the same thing I'm going for in my RWBY fanfic and i can relate to it to some degree, however, I do hate how they did it. Everything in volume 3 feels insanely rushed and yet there are times when the story just flat-out stops for exposition. The overall feel of the show is drastically different now, with its characters, who were once so relatable it was hard to believe they weren't real, now feeling more like the precise opposite; the script is more often than not subpar, and some lines of dialogue were just flat out stupid. The pacing was all over the place, going from mellowed out and cool to a shotgun round to the face in the span of about 10 ten seconds. The finale felt so crammed and chaotic, and the resolution was total bulls***. It's not to say I don't like it, hell, there's plenty to like about it, but what confuses me is that fans seem to be adamantly set on defending it saying it's nothing short of RWBY perfection, not realizing that, in my opinion anyways, what made the show good was the fact that every character in it felt like a real person and not a CGI animated anime character. I could go on and on, but for the sake of, well, not doing so, I'll say that i didn't hate what happened in it, but i hated how they went about it.
