I don't know how much this has to do with this painting in particular, but I'm taking a painting class right now and my teacher said "Any idea worth doing is worth doing more than once." He actually said that it's good to explore your subject and come up with maybe 7 or 8 paintings.
I really like this one. It has a comforting atmosphere. The blue line is intriguing. Nice blending of colors on the grass and hills as well.

Usually I'm really tired of the idea at the middle of the painting already... It seems like one must be really strong minded in order to complete many paintings on the same subject
Well it has more to do than merely repainting the subject from another angle. It would have to do with rethinking the subject or possibly re-imagining it.
I did re-do a painting once. I painted the exact same composition, but I did it with different mediums. I ended up liking the original better, but I wouldn't mind thinking about the subject and recreating it. I do have a few paintings that are similar concepts as well (like I was in the same sort of mindspace when I painted each of them), but I don't know if anyone would notice the similiarties in the paintings themselves unless they commonly look for the deeper meaning of something.
I try to paint from the heart. I try to paint concepts that affect me, so they can't really get old.
A collection of the most beautiful and amazing square photographs I found among my favourites. Please have a look and give these artists the attention they deserve!
