HAHAHAHAHA BFG!!!! XD

I think that because there are WAY more communities/ websites now, back when I started a LONG time ago (pre 2003) DA was basically one of only a few legitimate art sites. Now with the saturation of artsites and even those that you can even recieve payment/ money, those have become very popular for their own reasons. So many choices now that it becomes a bit hard to choose and daunting to some, or just join them all and hopefully not go insane.
It's not a bad thing to be on DA, it's gotten a bad rap over the past while especially when it comes to art theft and admins handling certain situations in a poor manner. I still like DA in many ways but I'm only on here for fun.

Yeah I figured out. Kinda like video games right now, you don't really know which way to look O_O"

Maybe I'm a lucky bastard, but so far my Helpdesk experiences have been quite positive :-? (Confused)

As far "art theft" online enforcement goes, almost every IT expert out there will agree that there's very little one can do against that, and DA's stance on the matter is no different. Even the likes of ArtStation (a professional-oriented platform, though aspiring artists are welcome as well) vouch for that. That's saying something...

Choosing something good over something crappy can be a hard choice these days. x.x

Hopefully things are different, at one point DA had issues with people getting viruses from the ads they had, possibly a script error along as an issue with the type of browser being used. But this was like 5-6 years ago and luckily I run ad blockers and script prompts... bloody hell some of the stuff that DA tries to get off a persons computer from personal to the types of sites you visit can be annoying as heck.

Just for shits and giggles, I decided I'd see how many elements uBlock Origin typically blocks on some sites' homepages:

DA (Today section): 8
ArtStation: 2
Flickr: From 9 to the hundreds as you keep scrolling down. I wish I was lying about that one.

Also, it seems like the traffic in and out of DA has observed quite the increase by the end of 2016.

Flickr is still around!?!? =\

Not to surprised by traffic on DA, they have a fair amount of postings on stuff from Facebook and ect to draw more traffic in.
