I was given advice that thumbnails are your best friend. Take time while drawing to zoom out. It will help you spot mistakes you wouldn't see up close 
My program has a navigator that stays the size of a thumbnail, so I just look over at it to see if things look wonky or off centered.

I do have that thumbnail navigator in my program as well. It is very helpful!
It is! It saves me a lot lol nothing is more frightening than being hyper focused on the drawing for a long time and then finally look at the navigator....I try to make it a habit to check it when certain sections are completed >.<
