Wow, so that's what garage band does! I always thought Garageband was a useless program and very incongruent with all the other iLife programs.

its actually okay if you are doing light sound editing. plus it comes with a shitload of free-use loops that you can use to your heart's content. it isn't very robust, though. i tried to re-dub a movie trailer with it and the thing crashed every 5 seconds.
