Yeah, I've never been happy with the way the Japanese whitewash all the things they've done/do historically.... They're such a...well, prideful people is one way to put it, but that's not conveying it correctly. It's denial to the highest degree if you absolutely REFUSE to admit you were wrong...... I think it's probably also tied into the xenophobic tendencies they've had for AGES (like the time when Christianity was outlawed and many were slaughtered). Sometimes it's HUGE and WAY OUT THERE, and anyone not Japanese will treat others like dogs or worse. Sometimes it's muted and only "behind closed doors." I don't think that all Japanese have been that way throughout history, and I think it's getting better to-day... But there are still the nationalists/imperialists, and it's......really lame. There are still those over there who are completely against people like the Koreans or Chinese even being in the same area. Living in the southeastern United States, I see a lot of racism often enough, and I never understand it.
And then of course there's the sex culture that proliferates over there. I'm no~t a fan of that... Bugs the heck out of me... I mean, what the heck. You can't objectify people without damaging their idea of human worth.

I was really tired when I wrote this...let me add, I tend to think most/all societies have MASSIVE GLARING FLAWS and I didn't mean to single the Japanese out here, this was talking about the one nation just in response to your post... I love lots of aspects of Japanese culture (food, politeness, kotatsu--haha--and more), and lots of other cultures... (I like taking the best bits from all around.) America, for example, has a BIG "sex sells" problem, and a "if you're not banging everyone around you, you're a loser," culture.
I use the words "hentai, yaoi, yuri" on this stamp, though, because they're commonly used words online. But I'm against it no matter what country of origin.
And there's actually a gigaton of racism here in America, too... Not as commonly white-on-black as you'd think, but there's still a lot among tons of people. I see a lot of xenophobia (TONS of this), and a lot of hate if your political views differ... I think it's less of a "country" problem and more of a "humanity" issue. Although there are quirks that culture and especially GOVERNMENT bring. I love the U.S. Constitution and government SYSTEM as it's supposed to be...not so much how it has been carried out... And then there's gov't/military atrocities...
(I'm still tired writing this, but at least this time it's from illness and not sleepiness. XD MAYBE I'm more coherent... Maybe.... I have a feeling I still probably am not. Haha.)
