Sparkling work...not sure I see this as stylistically the same as the examples you cite. Seems to me more in keeping with Self Portrait 1997 on any number of levels, not the least of which is that you eliminated any photographic references and made it clear that you have more talent in your hand than a camera has quality in its lens (well, at least consumer cameras, anyhow!). Seriously, I really like this piece, and as I was first viewing it prior to reading your little ditty there, I thought that it's time to move on to some color too!
This is not just a drawing... it is a quality work of art and a very nicely done contemporary portrait at that.

thanks ... I went into this with the exact idea i wanted, planning on elaborating a background - i found him to be very quiet .. and just stayed with that idea for the wall *
thanks D .... I was just reffering to the cropping of the face as in the others and the movement in the skin as in Smitty and not over working it to ultra smooth ... i like the idea of getting things to work in harmony from a distance as well as up close - its not as visible here i see but it has some of the effects in person - as we all know isnt as easy to get all that sometimes with our cameras when we are shooting the image to display here - The SP 97 was a clear elaboration in the shadows and wall for sure ... purely made up - did both that one and Allison in unison ... both are still favs of mine out of my body of drawings must have been something in the water that month ?
have been tihnking of blowing some dust of those brushes in the corner ... paint does funny things to me though - i never feel like painting like i draw - i love the quality of paint being paint, and love to make a mess!
I posted on the forum asking people to show me their green deviations and I got a lot of very good green deviations. Please show your support for these artists by faving their art and faving this article.
