I must say, the treatment on the torn edges of the paper is exceptionally cool.
And the colours work surprisingly more efficiently to pull together the composition than it did with the collage. I think the tones are a little closer together in the painting, and all the surfaces become equal.

i honestly thought for a second that the cranes had been photographed over the collage, and not painted.
this is beautiful work, terribly romantic without coming off as trite. what i really love is the fact that you painted a collage with variations of 3d and 2d elements... the still life origami, the photorealistic magazine cut out eyes, the art-nouveau like painterly body, illustrative flowers, flat coloured comic book face.
