i comment because i think your art is worthy of being critiqued. not cos i whore myself. not cos i care about being returned the favor. cos *you* deserve it. get it through your heads. if you think i deserve something, thats cool too.

love the complimentary harmony you used for the shading of the jacket - think that the background actually works really well, shows a kind of serene personality... very subtle, the texture's great, like fingerprints.

I dunno Joe... I can't quite understand the irritation with the background - as it stands there's a nice harmonic flow to it that sort of encircles him, kinda metaphorical I guess. Another aspect of it is that the grooves look distinctly like a vinyl which I think we can both appreciate being entirely appropriate given the nature of Massive Attack's music.

Some of his hair is kind of awkward to me.. kind of like it's somehow washed too deeply with the medium, sort of bleeding I guess. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it, but it strikes me as not quite harmonising fully. That being said.. the shading and colouring on the face is absolutely beautiful. I cannot deny you of that at all. It's so lusciously lifelike yet so goddamn animated.


It's not hard to appreciate why you're one of the masters of mixed media, my man.

I love how loose this is. I really dig the dramatic shading on this far more than v.3.

The background is reminiscent of cement parking garages, at least this is how I perceive it.

This gives a very real urban street atmosphere. The background texture coupled with the raw and bold strokes of Daddy G melds well as a whole composition.
