My felt Link hat came out perfect! I followed a youtube video [link], along with this pattern. I cut mine like he shows in the picture: 30-36 inches long on the longest side and 12 inches wide for head width (24 in.{-1in after sewn} circumference), I cut 2 identical isosceles triangles 12"x 3ft. Did a 1/2" seam for all the sewing.
I also made Link ears! Hand drew them 2" to 2 1/2" at the widest point, and 5 1/2" long up to the point. I made the ear on paper, cut out the shape pinned the paper to 2 "skin" colored felt material- right sides together, sewed around the paper. Leaving the widest opening unsewn, turned it right side out, folded in and sewed the edge shut. Added a few details to the ear with zigzag stitch and attached the ears to the hat with a few stitches with invisible thread! :)
