I have never understood all of the transformer clones I have seen over the decades. They make no sence from a millitary point of view. And they completely miss the point when it comes to AI and robotic transport - to say nothing of basic physics. This thing is top heavy and would weigh so much it would sink like a stone into mud. If it is automated, then one piece of shrapnel would turn it into a very expensive piece of junk.

The is nothing 'just' about art. Modern skyscrapers were invented by a german science fiction illustrator in the early 1930's. His vision changed the sky line of every city on earth within a few decades.

A fundamental rule of art is 'know your subject'

'Real' robots have existed for many decades now, and so has the science of artificial intelligence. Boring homework perhaps, but it will make your ideas a million times more interesting.

Your choice is simple: continue to play around with childish stereotypes or get serious about exploring the future of human interaction with technology.

Perhaps you will inspire the future of robotics someday!

erm....you do know that this is fiction don't you?...this thing doesn't actually exist and isn't going to be put into production...it's just art

so was the submarine... and the skyscraper and HAL9000 etc etc.

Ideas give shape and form and identify are very powerful.

yes but with all the flaws you listed which retarded government would put this into production? and how many government employees in charge of R and D do you know of who have a deviantart profile? and i agree real technology can be spawned from fiction look back to the 50s when video calling was laughable but seriously dude it isnt exactly what they imagined in the 50s ie a wall that doubled as a video phone its redically different and if a mecha style project was ever implemented by the military (very real chance) you really think they would follow the sketches of someone on deviantart to produce their war machines cause that seems a tad retarded to me, this is a fantasised drawing meant to be for fun it is not the basis for blueprints for the military...

My point is... don't sell yourself short. Avoid copying tiered ideas and seek to go beyond what you have already seen. And don't underestimate the power of 'fun'.

You are important. There is only one of you.

I know of one guy on here who claims to have designed engines for a major car company.

Playing around with ideas is the BEST way to change the world.

deviantart will make its mark on world culture sooner or later, if it hasn't already. Time will tell. You know too well that there are some shit hot artist on here who have what it takes to go all the way. All it takes is everything you've got :D
