Well I dunno if there's an actual sidestep move, but it seems that either block, throw, jump, or attack will lead to the same end where a misplaced Falcon Punch is concerned 
I meant sidestep in the sense of dodging. It's where you stand in place and press Down with either L or R. Not many people do it to avoid attacks due to the timing, and not too many actually know how to properly (and time) Falcon's punch to avoid it that way.

Ah, that'll be one of those moves I simply keep forgetting I know how to do, then. My immediate reaction would be jump rather than block or sidestep. Either that or I'd attempt to counter. That often ends poorly, hehe.
Yeah, heheh, I know what you mean. It's one of those things that people tend to forget. It's similar to how, with Link, his regular shield blocks a lot of attacks. If you see a fully charged Super Scope shot coming your way, for example, or a fully charged shot from Samus, just face it and stand still. You may get pushed back, but the shield will keep the attack from hitting.
