have you ever kept a notebook or something with character descriptives? 
I used to keep a sort of record of things, like names, ages, scars and other distinctive marks, so I wouldn't forget. I haven't in a while, though...
I tried once, while writing another story, and I gave up mainly because I had too many characters in the story, itself, I think. I just didn't have enough "write" to go around for all of them.
I think I just got less and less organized as time's gone past. Only thing I have for Hollowmark as far as that goes is a paragraph in my notebook, and I might not have even stuck to it....
