What do people have against Sally? 
People think she's a Mary Sue. Until recently, she hasn't really suffered any consequences for her actions in the comics.
And somehow that's a problem?
It can be. What's your take?
I don't know, I think Sally's character is a pretty cool concept. She doesn't have powers like the Sonic cast, having to rely on hand-to-hand combat skills and strategy, but she doesn't let her weaknesses hinder her from fighting for her planet. That Ken Penders guy flanderized her character into the generic clingy damsel who broke up with Sonic by accusing him of being selfish. Yeah, it was very harsh times indeed.
As for Tootie, she isn't all that immature as people believe her to be. She was the one who outed Vicky (in secret) and is probably the only person not deathly afraid of her.

I get what you mean about Sally. Asuna from Sword Art Online got this treatment too, in reverse.
