inbetween the first two dreadnaughts on the left.

...oh, there's two of them there!

The very small guys? Or the one that's leaving a large blue engine trail? Or maybe the one to the left of it?
And which one is the one coming from the bottom left of the picture and we only get to see its top?

well the two ships I was referring to are inbetween the two dreadnaughts positioned in the middle of the minmatar formation. the big engine trail from the battleship at the bottom center of the minmatar formation is... "The Garbage Can," since I can't remember what exactly it's called. the battleship on the left of the formation is the Typhoon, the one that looks like a big sailboat.

the one coming from the bottom left is an Apocalypse.

now that I think about it, if that's all the Amarr fleet in the system has to offer.... they're cruising for a bruising. they have only 8 battleships present, followed by a lot of escorts...

8 battleships
1 battlecruiser
5 cruisers
4 frigates
11 indeterminate classes

the minmatar formation have serious firepower on their side with those three dreadnaughts, escorted by 2 battleships, a battlecruiser, and smaller craft.

3 dreadnaughts
2 battleships
1 battlecruiser
6 cruisers
2 frigates
10 indeterminate classes

yep, it'll be a bloody one, but if the minmatar are conservative about throwing their ships at the enemy forces, and let the dreadnaughts and battleships pound away at a distance, the minmatar will have more than the three dreadnaughts after they win.

Let's see... from what I can see, the Amarr have:

1 Abbadon class Battleship
5 Apocalypse class Battleships
3 Armageddon class Battleships (1 KIA)
2 Harbinger class Battelcruisers
1 Prophesy class Battlecruiser
4 Maller class Cruisers
1 Omen class Cruiser
2 Punisher class frigates
2 Executioner class frigates

... a few other ships I can't see clearly to ID.

The Minmatar have...

A POS-Tower, with it's shields up thus possibly with guns... and modules inside the shields.

3 Naglfar class Dreadnoughts
1 Tempest class Battleship
1 Typhoon class Battleship
1 Cyclone class Battlecruiser
3-4 Rupture class Cruisers
6 Stabber class Cruisers (1 KIA)
2 Bellicose class Cruisers
2 Rifter class Frigates
2 Vigil class Frigates

... a few to hazy to ID.

Way I see it the Amarr is screwed. 3 dreads and a POS tower will very likely kill 9 battleships, the down side is, the entire Minmatar regular fleet will likely die very, very soon.

Also, the Minmatar Battelship with the solar sails is the Tempest, the Typhoon is the really big and bulky thip to the bottom right. :)

play a little more EVE then :-)

All ships are pretty determinable for me.

On Amarr side there are some Omens, Mallers, Arbitrators, Executioners, Harbingers, at least one Prohecy and Punishers. And of course the pretty recognizable battleships.

The ship from lower left is not another Apoc however, but an Abaddon. I wonder why there is no completely visible Abaddon on the image.

The Minmatar have a Typhoon and a Tempest, a couple of Stabbers, Vigils, Rifters, Bellicoses. In the distance there even is a Cyclone.

I'd say, go Amarr! Kill the battleships, and their support, then tracking disrupt the Dreads, and tank the fire that is still incoming. Sieged Dreads wont hit much anyway, unsieged Dreads have lower DPS then a battleship.

You clearly know a whole lot more about EVE than I do. Due to time constraints and the inability to get a game card over here I was only able to play trial. Two times trial.

I know what I saw and what I saw on movies on youtube.

aw, man! you don't know what you're missing!

I know what I'm missing. From what I saw EVE is not like other MMOs. There is no such thing as power leveling, which in turn reduced the population by a lot and also raised the overall IQ by a fraction. A lot of emphasis is made on talking and player driven economy than just frantic and mindless killing of your foes for whatever reason.

I played WoW and the mentality of the game just made me quit. Saving the world once is excellent, but doing it over and over again in the same way is more than boring, it's stupid and the game makes you do that.

I can definitely agree on the IQ part. even the isk farmers have gotten smarter, though they're still easily destroyed once you catch onto their antics.

EVE also keeps adding new skills so there's no one still playing that's ever "maxed out" on skills.
